I'm currently writing the notes for our new 1 week Fortran 90 course for
postgrads and members of staff. So what? you say, what's that got to do with
Icon?
Well, I'd like if possible to build an integrated 'environment' which allows
the users to edit, compile or execute a file from within a single X window,
possibly by clicking on buttons within the window. (Naturally!) I'd like to
build this using (X-)Icon, but I don't have a feel for this sort of thing at
all. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to tackle this?
In an ideal world, the user would be able to select an editor an hard-wire it
into his version of the environment, and would also be able to select/deselect
different compiler options, but I'll be settling for a simple compile and for
using xedit or ue in the first instance.
Any suggestions gratefully received...
Thanks.
Roger Hare.
